HVAC Company Serving Silverdale, PA Homeowners
About 15 minutes south via PA-313 and PA-113

Silverdale is one of the smallest places we work in: 805 residents on about 0.4 square miles, at the crossing of PA-113 and PA-152. It was split off from Hilltown Township in 1896, and Hilltown still surrounds it on every side.
It is a good bit farther south than most of our Upper Bucks calls, past Perkasie and Sellersville. Plan on roughly 15 to 20 minutes from our shop, and longer in traffic. We say that up front rather than promise a window that does not hold.
The borough is in the Pennridge School District, and the surrounding area has the usual Upper Bucks mix of older homes, newer homes and farmland. We take each address as it comes.

Housing & HVAC Considerations in Silverdale
We are not going to guess at the age mix of every street in the borough. What we commonly see in older Pennridge-area homes is furnaces or boilers that have been replaced once or twice over the life of the house, with ductwork or piping that is original to the house or an early retrofit.
Where ducts are older, they are often sized for the equipment that was there first. When we replace a furnace or add an AC coil, we check duct size and sealing instead of assuming the old layout is right. A modern high-efficiency unit moves air differently from the one it replaces.
The fuel depends on the address. Some streets have natural gas, some do not, and we check what is available before recommending a swap. Equipment that is past about 20 years, whatever the fuel, is a candidate for a replacement conversation when repairs start to pile up.

What We Check on a Service Call in Silverdale
On a no-heat call at an older furnace we start with the basics: thermostat, power, igniter or burner, flame sensor and the blower. Many calls end there. If the heat exchanger shows a crack, we stop and explain it, because a cracked exchanger is a carbon monoxide hazard and not just a comfort problem.
A faint odor, soot staining, or a pilot that will not stay lit are reasons to call sooner rather than later. A combustion test with a meter gives a reading we can show you, which is better than a guess.
For a replacement estimate, we measure the house and look at the existing ducts and venting before choosing a size. Carrying over the old equipment's capacity is the most common way a replacement ends up too big or too small.
