HVAC Services in West End, Quakertown
About 5 minutes from our Penn Am Drive office along West Broad

West End Boulevard is PA-309 as it runs through Quakertown, and it is the borough's modern commercial corridor, where Broad Street is the old downtown. On this page, West End means that strip and the streets close to it, not a formally mapped neighborhood. Our shop is about five minutes away.
The calls here split two ways. Small retail and office buildings along the boulevard mostly run rooftop package units, and the streets behind them are residential, mostly forced-air houses.
The older western edge of the borough, near Main and West Broad, is a different story. That is the earliest-settled part of town, where Liberty Hall stands at 1237 W. Broad Street, and it is covered on our historic district page.

Housing & HVAC Considerations in West End
Houses near the boulevard are a mix of ages. The borough's housing from after 1900 includes Foursquares, bungalows, Dutch Colonials and later ranches and Cape Cods, and forced-air homes of that vintage commonly have furnaces that are now 15 to 25 years old. It is mostly a steady repair-and-replace market, not the boiler-heavy work you get closer to the old downtown.
The commercial side is different: rooftop package units on retail and office buildings, where the problem has to be fixed before opening time or during business hours. We schedule around that where we can.
In older boroughs, houses near commercial corridors are sometimes split into apartments, and when that has happened one furnace and one duct system may be serving a layout it was never designed for. If one floor runs hot and another cold, it is worth looking at zone dampers or a second system.

What We Check on a Service Call in West End
On a rooftop unit that will not cool or heat, we check the filters and coils, belts and blower, contactors and capacitors, refrigerant charge, condensate drains and the thermostat schedule, and look at the roof curb and wiring for water or pest damage.
On a house furnace that is short-cycling or lockout-prone we check the flame sensor and igniter, the vent and pressure switch, the heat exchanger, blower and filter, and the duct run to the cold room, before recommending replacement.
In a house that has been split into units, we start with a duct and airflow check and a load calculation for each floor, and then say whether rebalancing, zone dampers or a second system makes sense.
